Love Before the Ruins

This story is old.

It is a story of give

And take.

It is about selflessness.

It is about allowing someone else's needs to echo your own.

It is about forgetting yourself.

Without forgetting yourself.

And having someone there to reflect you, to remind you.
It is about seeing the world as you never have before.

Enhancing life experiences simply because you have someone to share them with.

Though, perhaps, it is not always so simple.

You have to work at it, and that's the point:
And only this can separate you from the herd -- from the landfills where so many others have gone to rest.

Because nothing is ever perfect, and the moment you realize that, you move -- somewhat paradoxically -- closer to the fairy tale:

Which is to say: another classic case of boy meets girl.

And happily ever-after.

It works, but "work" is the root word.
